Pain between shoulders
Are you experiencing an intense pain between your shoulder blades? While it feels good to have that area worked on, a lot of what I see as the origin of this problem is a shortening of the pectoral muscles. The pectoral muscles in the front work in conjunction with the back muscles to keep your shoulders properly alligned from front to back.
Often our daily lives include many hours on the computer or in chairs that do not support good posture and over time the shoulders move forward; shortening the pectoral muscles and lenghening the muscles in the back, resulting in pain in that area. Those back muscles are are in a lenghened inhibited state.
While it makes sense to target those muscles to make them feel better, often a more effective approach would be to allow the pectoral muscles to lenghten(release); resulting in more balance around the shoulder joint.
I would be happy to offer my services (in this case deep tissue techniques) to restore that balance. After the deep tissue work is done on the pectorals, the work can be integrated with swedish techniques on the front and back to reset the tension removing that pain.
